Ford's electric F-150 pulls million-pound train

The electric F-150 will follow a hybrid variant.

Ford has posted a video highlighting the torque of its all-electric F-150 prototype.

The EV was taken to a rail yard where it pulled 10 double-decker rail cars containing no less than 42 gasoline-powered F-150 pickups, weighing in at more than one million pounds.

"The all-electric F-150 prototype is towing far beyond any production truck's published capacity in a one-time short event demonstration," the press release notes in its fine print.

The company has confirmed plans to bring the electric F-150 to market at some point, though the precise timing remains unclear. The EV will be preceded by a hybrid F-150.
