Ford Mustang RTR drifts entire Nurburgring circuit [Video]

Burning rubber across 12.9 miles of track with 900 horsepower required several tire changes.

Monster Energy has posted the full video of Vaughn Gittin Jr's drift session around the entire Nurburgring circuit.

Gittin has staked his claim as the first to drift the entire 12.9 miles of Green Hell, launching around 73 turns in his 900-horsepower Mustang RTR.

Unsurprisingly, the run was not done in a completely uninterrupted lap -- the car apparently required a few tire changes along the way.

"I was out of my comfort zone for the majority of the hot laps," he said after completing the feat. "I did not know the Green Hell nearly as well as I thought I did. Everything changes when you're going sideways at those speeds. When we stopped for the first tire change I was elated. I had to catch my breath, which is something I have never experienced behind the wheel since I was a rookie in Formula Drift."
