Roush F-150 Nitemare claims 'quickest production truck,' hits 60 mph in 4.1 seconds

A shorter-cab prototype was even quicker, reaching 60 mph in just 3.9 seconds.

Roush Performance has declared that its Ford F-150 Nitemare is the quickest production truck in the world.

The company took the tuned CrewCab pickup to a drag strip and measured times using a Vbox DriftBox, confirming a launch to 60 mph in just 4.1 seconds.

An engineering test truck based on a lighter regular-cab F-150 was even quicker, breaking the "elusive four second mark" with a zero-to-60 mph time of 3.9 seconds, though the particular cab configuration is not yet a Roush production vehicle.

The Nitemare adds a supercharger to Ford's 5.0-liter V8, raising output to 650 horsepower and 610 pound-feet of torque. A custom exhaust system, 22-inch wheels, and unique exterior and interior elements complement the extra power.

The upgrade package starts at $19,150 above the vehicle base price and comes with a three-year, 36,000-mile warranty.
