New York: GMC Sierra AT4

The off-road package boasts a two-inch lift kit, upgraded shocks and unique wheels.

General Motors has previewed the 2019 GMC Sierra AT4, an off-road package that will be sold alongside the basic Sierra and luxury-focused Denali variant.

The AT4 boasts a two-inch lift kit and a unique two-tone wheel design, available in 18- or 20-inch sizes with Goodyear Wrangler Duatrac or all-terrain tires.

Other standard equipment includes 4WD with a two-speed transfer case, locking rear differential, skid plates and off-road-tuned Rancho shock absorbers.

The Sierra's head-up display projects an off-road inclinometer onto the windshield, including the fore-aft tilt, front tire angle and left-right tilt. Available surround vision provides a bird's-eye view of the vehicle's surroundings when maneuvering in tight spots.

Buyers can choose from 5.3- and 6.2-liter V8 engines or the new Duramax 3.0-liter turbodiesel inline-six. The 6.2- and 3.0-liter units are paired with a 10-speed transmission.

The company says the AT4 sub-brand will be extended to GMC's entire lineup in the next two years.
