Hyundai Elevate concept combines legs, wheels

The four-legged EV is designed to take people into areas that are inaccessible via traditional vehicles.

Hyundai has teased a new vehicle concept, known as Elevate, that will be showcased at CES in Las Vegas.

The rendering shows a first-responder vehicle elevated far off the ground, using a combination of legs and wheels to crawl over rocks and rubble in an apocalyptic scene.

"The four-legged Hyundai 'Elevate' will redefine our perception of vehicular mobility," the company says. "This vehicle combines the power of robotics and EV technology to take people where no vehicle has been before."

The design concept will be officially revealed on January 7.
