Next-gen Hyundai Tucson promises 'very interesting' styling

The company is trying to bring more individual personality to its models.

Another Hyundai executive has indicated that the next-generation Tucson will bring a surprising change in styling.

The company has already completed its final design reviews for the new model, including all trims and exterior/interior colors, with production to commence in less than two years.
"It's very interesting visually; it's going to appeal to a very broad audience, I think," Hyundai product planning manager Andrew Tuatahi told WhichCar. "Probably the biggest shift for the car is going to be style and design."
The Korean automaker's global design director, SangYup Lee, earlier this year said "the whole world will freak out" over the redesigned Tucson. Bolder styling will be complemented by a more upscale interior and technological upgrades.
The company is trying to move away from the "Russian doll" approach that can make an entire lineup of models look too similar. Instead, upcoming cars will follow the 2020 Sonata's lead and bring more individual styling characteristics.
