Hyundai Ioniq Electric gets 170 miles of range for 2020 refresh
The whole Ioniq lineup has received a few styling tweaks.
The Hyundai Ioniq Electric has received a significant range boost and a slightly new look for the 2020 model year.
A new 38.3-kWh battery module brings 36 percent more storage capacity than the outgoing edition, enabling the EV to cruise for up to 170 miles on a single charge. The range upgrade doesn't quite hit the 200-mile level occupied by the Tesla Model 3 and Chevy Bolt, though it puts the Ioniq EV ahead of the similarly priced Nissan Leaf 40-kWh variant.
The entire Ioniq lineup, including the hybrid and plug-in hybrid variants, have been outfitted with a new grille, front and rear bumpers and side sill moldings. The cars have also received LED headlights and new instrument panels with an available 10.25-inch navigation system.
The 2020 Ioniq trio is on sale now.
