Infiniti names Taisuke Nakamura as new head of design
Karim Habib is leaving to "pursue other opportunities" just two years after arriving from BMW.
Infiniti has appointed Taisuke Nakamura to serve as head of design, replacing Karim Habib who is leaving to pursue other opportunities.
A Nissan veteran who joined the company in 1993, Nakamura is being promoted from his current role of program design director. He was responsible for the design of several EV concepts including the QX Inspiration, Qs Inspiration (pictured) and Prototype 10.
Habib had served at Infiniti for just two years after jumping ship from BMW in 2017. Before joining the Japanese luxury marque, he led design projects for BMW's X1, X2 Concept and CSL Homage, after spending a few years at Daimler working on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class.
"As a key member of our global design organization Karim was a key collaborator and leader helping Nissan Motors shape the electrification of Infiniti," said Nissan global design chief Alfonso Albaisa.
