2021 Jeep Grand Cherokee interior improvements appear in leaked document

The SUV appears to be getting a digital instrument cluster and larger infotainment display.

The next-generation Jeep Grand Cherokee's interior may have been leaked ahead of schedule.

A document posted by Instagram user thejeep_guy shows a long list of changes from the current model. If the sheet is accurate, buyers can expect to finally see a 10.1-inch digital instrument cluster and optional infotainment display of the same size.

The redesigned model is also shown with a rotary shift dial to replace the current electronic 'monostable' lever shifter, which prompted lawsuits and had been described by the NHTSA as unintuitive with poor tactile feedback.

Other changes include a new steering wheel, head-up display, 360-view camera and a foot-activated tailgate.

A 2017 rumor claimed the 2021 Grand Cherokee will borrow Alfa Romeo's Giorgio platform that underpins the Stelvio and Giulia. The same architecture is expected to continue spreading across FCA's Maserati and Dodge brands in coming years.
