Kia refreshes Niro Hybrid for 2020 model year
The mid-cycle update centers around new lighting and interior technology.
The Kia Niro Hybrid is set to receive a mid-cycle update for the 2020 model year, unveiled at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The exterior has been upgraded with new projector headlights, a diamond-pattern grille and dual-chevron LED daytime running lights, while the rear faux skid plate is wider and more pronounced. New 16- and 18-inch wheel designs are also available.
The Niro Hybrid received a Top Safety Pick Plus award from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, but only with the HID projectors that come with the EX trim and Premium package. The halogen projectors on all other trim levels were deemed 'poor' due to inadequate visibility on the left side of the road and in curves, whether using the high or low beams.
The 2020 edition has also received a few interior enhancements, adding a restyled seven-inch digital instrument cluster and standard eight-inch infotainment touchscreen. New options include a 10.25-inch navigation display, Harmon/Kardon premium audio, paddle shifters and mood lighting.
Kia will announce pricing for the 2020 Niro Hybrid closer to its early-2020 launch. The same upgrades will be carried over to the plug-in hybrid variant, also due to go on sale early next year.
