Kia teases upcoming global small SUV

The compact SUV will debut this summer.

Kia is keeping the SUV's details a secret until its unveiling, but the company did release two teaser sketches of the compact utility vehicle. The sketches reveal a vehicle that is clearly a Kia, but with some nice modern upgrades, such as stylized LED headlights. The global SUV also sports chunkier proportions than we're accustom to seeing in the compact segment.

Kia says the small SUV is designed to specifically to appeal to millennials and, as such, will be packed with the latest tech features.

"We have created a car which stands out everywhere, from the city to the countryside,” said Byung Chul Juh, Head of Kia Styling. "Its robust yet sporty design will be matched by a wide range of features and technologies that are universally suited to younger buyers in markets around the world. Our new small SUV is a proposition that no other car in its class will match.”

The compact SUV will first go on sale in Korea during the second half of 2019, with global sales set to commence shortly thereafter.
