Lamborghini Aventador SV sells out

All 600 units -- each priced at nearly $500,000 -- have been purchased.

Lamorghini's latest range topper, the Aventador LP 750-4 Superveloce, has reportedly sold out just weeks after the company confirmed a 600-unit production cap.

The company will be shipping 200 units to North and South America, another 200 cars to the Asia-Pacific region, and the remaining 200 units to Europe, the Middle East and Africa, according to De Telegraaf.

Unveiled early this year in Geneva, the Aventador SV features a retuned 6.5-liter V12 engine with 750 horsepower -- up 50 ponies from the basic Aventador. Taking full advantage of the extra power, the car has also been lightened by 110 pounds.

The Italian automaker claims the extra output is good for a zero-to-62 mph sprint in just 2.8 seconds, with a top speed above 217 mph. Handling is also said to be improved, with upgraded suspension and revised bodywork to maximize downforce.

Chief executive Stephan Winkelmann has described the new SV as the "most exclusive, pure and emotional car" in Lamborghini's current lineup. The enhancements added nearly $100,000 to the Aventador base price, bringing the total up to $489,600 in the US market.

The first production units will begin rolling out of the Raging Bull's factory this summer.
