Lamborghini teases Sian hypercar ahead of Frankfurt
The Raging Bull's first hybrid is said to have sold out at $3.6 million per unit.
Lamborghini has given some owners an early look at the Sian, rumored to be the company's first hybrid.
Due to be revealed in Frankfurt, the Sian is described as a hybrid adaptation of the Aventador SVJ with a 48-volt system that adds a modest increase in output above the 760-horsepower naturally aspirated V12.
Lamborghini CTO Maurizio Reggiani recently declared that hybrid tech would be necessary for keeping the brand's important V12 alive. The Raging Bull is hesitant to follow rivals on the road to turbocharged V8 engines, viewing 12 cylinders as a central element of its brand.
Sian production is expected to be limited to less than 100 units, all of which may have been reserved already despite a rumored price tag of $3.6 million.
