Land Rover details 2019 Range Rover lineup
Highlights include a new plug-in hybrid model and a new range-topper.
Land Rover has announced specifications for its revised 2019 Range Rover lineup, including a new plug-in hybrid model. The 2019 Range Rover will land in dealer showrooms later this year.
The highlight of the 2019 Range Rover line is a new P400e plug-in hybrid model. It uses a 296 horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine paired with an 114 horsepower electric motor. Total system output stands at 398 horsepower and an impressive 472 lb-ft of torque.
The Range Rover P400e utilizes a permanent four-wheel drive system and shifts via an eight-speed automatic. Land Rover says the Range Rover P400e can scoot from 0-60 in 6.4 seconds and hit a top speed of 137mph.
The electric portion of the Range Rover P400e's drivetrain is powered by a 13.1 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. When fully charged — which takes 2 hours 45 minutes via a 220V source — the Range Rover P400e can travel up to 31 miles on electric power alone.
The Range Rover P400e also boasts a function called Predictive Energy Optimization, or PEO for short. When a destination is entered into the vehicle's navigation system, PEO can analyze a number of different parameters — such as traffic and gradient along the route — to determine the most efficient combination of gas and electric power. There's also a Save mode that can be activated to maintain the vehicle's current battery charge.
Other updates for the 2019 model year include a new Wade Sensing System that provides the vehicle's wading depth in real-time and an expanded Advanced Driver Assistance System that now includes Active Cruise Control with Steering Assist. Land Rover has also added a new SVAutobiography LWB at the top of the Range Rover lineup.
Prices for the 2019 Range Rover will start at $88,860. The new HSE P400e will list from $95,150. The range-topping SVAutobiography LWB model arrives with a price tag befitting of a flagship model — $207,900, to be exact.
