Mazda6 recall focuses on faulty turn signal
The campaign affects just 180 new cars outfitted with accessory fog lamps.
Mazda is preparing to recall a small batch of Mazda6 sedans to correct a misbehaving turn signal.
Some vehicles outfitted with optional accessory fog lamps may experience problems with turn signal self-cancellation due to an incorrect switch. The behavior is non-compliant with federal safety regulations.
"A vehicle continuously driven with the turn signal 'on' may result in confusion to other drivers and potential obstruction of traffic," Mazda warns.
Drivers can still deactivate the turn signal manually by flipping the stock back to center position, but the switch does not automatically disengage the signal when the steering wheel rotates.
The issue affects just 180 vehicles sold in the US market.
