McLaren developing open-top Ultimate Series speedster?

The car is expected to serve as a rival to Ferrari's Monza SP1 and SP2 duo.

McLaren is reportedly working on a new Ultimate Series model that will take the form of an open-top speedster.

Sources tell Autocar the car will feature a more 'fluid' design aesthetic than the Senna, with a focus on maximizing the "pure pleasure of driving" rather than tuning for track performance.

Production is said to be slated for late 2019, with sales limited to a few hundred units and carrying a seven-figure price tag.
