Mercedes-AMG shows GLS 63, GLE 63 S
Both are powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 with 603 horsepower.
Mercedes-AMG has brought two powerful SUVs to Los Angeles, the 2021 GLS 63 and GLE 63 S.
Both are powered by a 4.0-liter biturbo V8 that delivers 603 horsepower, while a 48-volt EQ Boost starter/generator can briefly generate an additional 21 horses and 184 pound-feet of torque. Power is distributed to all four wheels via a nine-speed transmission and a 4Matic+ system with variable torque distribution.
The lighter, smaller GLE 63 S is the quicker of the two, hitting 60 mph in 3.7 seconds versus 4.1 seconds for the bigger GLS 63. Both are electronically limited to 174 mph.
Naturally, the GLS 63 and GLE 63 S carry forward unique AMG exterior styling and particularly luxurious interior with a wide range of optional upgrades.
The duo will begin arriving in US showrooms by mid-2020. Pricing details have not yet been announced.
