Mercedes-AMG prices 2020 GT R Pro

The super sports car will carry an MSRP of around $200,000.

Mercedes-AMG has announced a starting price of just under $200,000 for its track-focused 2020 GT R Pro. Mercedes' most serious sports car will go on sale later this year.

To be exact, the 2020 Mercedes-AMG GT R Pro, which debuted at last year's Los Angeles auto show, will carry a base MSRP of $199, 650. However, once you add in a mandatory $995 destination charge, the GT R Pro cracks the $200k threshold.

The GT R Pro boasts several upgrades compared to the regular GT, including a race-tuned suspension, a number of carbon fiber bits and a revise aero pack. The GT R Pro's engine is a carryover 577 horsepower V8.

Thanks to all those improvements, Mercedes says the GT R Pro is six-seconds faster than the normal GT R around the Nurburgring.

Mercedes will produce just 750 units of the GT R Pro for the world market.
