MINI details JCW tuning kit for Clubman, Countryman variants
The upgrade package increases engine power and reduces exhaust system backpressure.
MINI has introduced a new John Cooper Works tuning kit for the 2018 Cooper S Clubman and Countryman.
Previously available only for the basic Cooper S, the JCW tuning kit includes a retrofit exhaust system, aftermarket components and reprogrammed engine control software that increase power output and enhance exhaust system performance and sound.
The Cooper S and Cooper S ALL4 jump from 189 to 208 horsepower, while maximum torque expands to a broader range between 1,350 and 4,600 rpm.
MINI claims the reduced exhaust backpressure also contributes to a sportier responsiveness. A Bluetooth-actuated exhaust valve system switches between two different modes, 'Sport' on the street and 'Sport+' for track use.
The tuning kit will arrive by January 2018 with a $1,950 price tag.
