Final Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution to be auctioned on eBay for charity

All proceeds will go to Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County.

Mitsubishi has announced plans to put the last Lancer Evolution Final Edition up for auction to raise funds for charity.

Like Car No. 0001, the final US1600 chassis will be put on eBay starting 9am on Thursday, September 8, and accepting bids for a week.

All proceeds from the auction will go to Feeding America Riverside | San Bernardino and Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County. Funds from the first auction went to support the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

The Evo is powered by a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine, delivering 303 horsepower and 305 lb-ft of torque to all four wheels. The Final Edition boasts unique badging, a black painted roof, dark chrome grille surround and matching Enkei alloy wheels, among other aesthetic tweaks.

"The auction corresponds with national Hunger Action Month, when Feeding America and member food banks ask everyone in America to take action and fight hunger in their community, all September long," the company said in a statement.
