Geneva preview: Nissan IMQ concept crossover by Drew Johnson
The concept will preview "the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility."
Nissan has released a teaser sketch of a new crossover concept that will make its global debut at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
Called the IMQ concept crossover, Nissan will introduce the show car at the Geneva show on March 5. But beyond that, we don't know much about the futuristic-looking crossover.
Nissan ambiguously stated that the IMQ "embodies the future of Nissan Intelligent Mobility,” which could mean the concept will showcase Nissan's next-generation autonomous tech. However, we'll have to wait until the start of the Geneva show to know for sure.
We'll also have to wait to hear what is powering the IMQ; Nissan made no mention of a powertrain in its brief press release. But given the IMQ's forward-looking ethos, we suspect an electric drivetrain is a distinct possibility.
With its oversized wheels and tiny greenhouse, the IMQ is clearly a concept with no direct production plans. However, the concept's styling is likely a design study for the brand's next-generation Qashqai, which is sold in the United States as the Rogue Sport.
Be sure to check in next week for details on Nissan's IMQ concept crossover.
