Nissan previews refreshed Maxima ahead of LA debut
The flagships sedan gains new technology alongside modest exterior tweaks.
Nissan has previewed the refreshed 2019 Maxima, due to be revealed next month in Los Angeles.
The front end remains mostly unchanged aside from new headlights with thin rows of LED lenses. The wide fog lights have also been replaced by small round lights.
The current Maxima has been excluded from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety's Top Safety Pick Plus honor roll because of its 'acceptable' headlight rating. Tests showed 'fair' to 'inadequate' illumination from its LED projectors in certain scenarios.
The 2019 Maxima also gains Nisan's latest Safety Shield 360 technology, a suite of six safety and driver-assistance features.
Nissan says the revised Maxima will be in showrooms by December.
