Nissan dealers get first look at new electric crossover
The model is expected to be inspired by the IMx concept.
Nissan has reportedly provided some US dealers with an early look at a new electric crossover that is under development.
Attendees say the upcoming model will ride on a new platform architecture with more range and power than the Leaf, accelerating to 60 mph in under five seconds, according to Automotive News.
The futuristic IMx concept (pictured) is said to serve as inspiration for the production crossover, which is said to have an exterior footprint similar to the Rogue yet a more spacious interior that is closer to the Murano.
Expected to arrive in the second half of 2021, the crossover will be particularly important for Nissan as the EV market quickly expands with numerous long-range models from various automakers. Nissan's electric crossover will face direct competition from the Tesla Model Y and Volkswagen ID.4.
