Nissan confirms V6 Titan on the way
The smaller engine will presumably bring the Titan\'s entry price closer to Detroit rivals.
Nissan has confirmed plans to introduce a V6 engine for its Titan pickup.
"We did confirm that a V6 will be coming," a spokesperson told AutoGuide. "However, that's all we are able to say as of now - no official timetable."
Customers currently have several cab configurations to choose from, but just two engines. The Titan's 5.6-liter Endurance V8 is good for 390 horsepower and 394 pound-feet of torque, while the Titan XD is available with a 5.0-liter Cummins diesel V8.
Buyers have to step down to the smaller Frontier to get a V6, which delivers 261 horsepower and 281 pound-feet of twist.
Even without the V6, Nissan is having no trouble selling the Titan. US deliveries more than doubled to nearly 53,000 units in 2017, narrowing the gap with the more popular Frontier.
