Updated 911 to debut in LA?

by Drew Johnson

Porsche\'s updated 911 could land in LA.

Porsche's update 2015 911 sports car could make its debut later this year at the Los Angeles auto show, a new report finds.

We've been hearing rumors about an updated 911 for months, and the newest version of Porsche's iconic sports car could finally debut within the next few weeks. According to a Tweet from Motor Trend's Jonny Lieberman, Porsche will unveil an updated version of its 911 GTS at the LA auto show.

Moreover, Lieberman speculates that the new GTS will debut with the 992 designation rather than the current 911's 991 chassis code. That indicates that the 911's changes will be far more than skin deep.

Few other details are known at this time but, in classic Porsche fashion, look for the updated 911 range - which includes models like the 4S and Turbo -- to be slowly rolled out over the course of the next several months.

The 2015 Porsche 911 will be one of 25 global debuts planned for the upcoming LA auto show.
