Porsche ready to kick off Taycan production
The company has been building its new production facility for nearly four years.
The Porsche Taycan is scheduled to begin series production starting next week.
The company has spent nearly 48 months building the "factory of the future" in Zuffenhausen. The project started quickly after the Mission E concept was well received following its debut in 2015.
The facility is designed to be CO2-neutral thanks to renewable energy sources, biogas heat generation, waste heat recycling, green roof areas and other environmentally friendly features.
Production will initially focus on the midrange 'Turbo' variant, which starts at $150,900 in the US market, and the range-topping Turbo S with a $185,000 price tag.
