Subaru teases 2017 Impreza for NY debut
The front fascia appears to bring a sportier styling with a truncated nose and reshaped headlights.
Subaru has released its first official teaser image for the 2017 Subaru Impreza, due to make its debut at the New York International Auto Show.
The darkened photo provides a glimpse of the Impreza's redesigned front end, which appears to bring a sportier styling with a flatter truncated noise. Headlights have been reshaped, but significantly toned down from the concept that appeared at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The next-generation Impreza is expected to be wider than its predecessor, with more interior space and potentially less weight. It will be the first model built upon Subaru's new Global Platform architecture, which promises a significant improvement in comfort and handling.
The platform is 70 to 100 percent more rigid than the company's current lineup, with a lower center of gravity and improved energy absorption in accidents. It was designed with electrification in mind, hinting at a hybrid Impreza.
Both the Impreza sedan and its five-door hatchback sibling will be officially unveiled on March 23.
