Subaru to introduce three concepts in Tokyo next month

All of the concepts are based on existing cars.

Subaru has announced that it will introduce three concept cars at next month's Tokyo Auto Salon, an event that can best be described as the Japanese equivalent of SEMA. All of the show cars will be based on existing models.

The first concept is called Legacy B4 Blitzen. Designed to sit at the very top of the Subaru range, the Legacy B4 Blitzen stands out thanks to a Premium Red paint job, a wider and lower front bumper, Blitzen-specific wheels and a trunk-mounted spoiler. The interior has been upgraded with piano black trim as well as beige leather upholstery with red contrast stitching.

The second concept is dubbed XV Sport. Starting with a stock XV Crosstrek, designers have added a two-tone bright yellow and black paint job that is accented by a spoiler, alloy wheels and a lowered ride height. The treatment continues inside with black upholstery and yellow contrast stitching.

The third and final concept is based on the Levorg, a station wagon that is not offered in the United States. Called Levorg S, it features a number of STI-designed parts including a high-performance intake, a sport exhaust and a strut brace. Power comes from a 2.0-liter flat-four that sends power to all four wheels via a six-speed manual transmission, but Subaru is keeping performance specifications under wraps.

All three concepts will be revealed online on January 9th. Subaru has not disclosed if they were designed simply to woo show-goers in Tokyo or if they preview upcoming additions to its lineup.
