Subaru WRX STI S209 costs nearly $65K
The special-edition STI delivers 341 horsepower.
Subaru has announced pricing details for the special-edition WRX STI S209.
The company will sell the cars for $64,880 (including $885 freight), representing a $27,000 premium over the standard WRX STI and apparently raising the bar as the most expensive Subaru model sold in the US.
The extra dough pays for a specially tuned EJ25 engine that delivers 431 horsepower and 330 pound-feet of torque, up 31 horses and 40 pound-feet from the basic STI.
Chassis and suspension upgrades complement the additional power, reducing flex and improving handling.
Only 209 examples will be delivered to US showrooms, all with a six-speed manual gearbox and choice between WR Blue Pearl or Crystal White Pearl paint.
