Tesla delivers record 97,000 vehicles in Q3
The company is still ramping up production to match demand.
Tesla has reported another record quarter, delivering around 97,000 vehicles in the past through months.
The company also set a production record with 96,155 vehicles rolling off the assembly line, including 79,837 Model 3 sedans.
"In addition, we achieved record net orders in Q3 and are entering Q4 with an increase in our order backlog," Tesla wrote in an update to investors.
The automaker says nearly all Model 3 orders came from customers who had no prior reservation, providing evidence of strong organic demand as the original backlog is nearly fulfilled.
Deliveries must increase to slightly more than 100,000 units in the fourth quarter for Tesla to meet Elon Musk's full-year projection of 360,000 to 400,000 units.
