Elon Musk promises goat, fart noises for horn, movement sounds
Inspired by Monty Python, the custom noises will also include coconuts.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk is planning to have a bit of fun with custom noises for the company's fleet of electric vehicles.
New regulations require automakers to install noisemakers in cars that lack an engine, providing an audible warning for pedestrians. Tesla apparently has decided to provide a few unorthodox options.
"Customized horn & movement sounds (coconuts being one, of course) coming to Teslas soon," Musk announced on Twitter, following up with another post that included emoji references for flatulence and goats.
Tesla's cars are expected to emit a pink noise when traveling within the regulatory window of zero to 19 mph, with a different sound when driving in reverse. The law does not go into effect until September of next year, however, so the standard noises may change ahead of the formal rollout.
