Tesla rolls out 'biggest software update ever' for Model 3, S, X
V10.0 features Theater mode, improved Smart Summon, Karaoke and more.
Tesla has begun rolling out Software Version 10.0, introducing a wide range of new features for the Model 3, S and X.
The update finally enables Theater mode, allowing the cars' massive displays to be used for watching Netflix, YouTube and Hulu. Riders can also sing along to "Caraoke," play new games or listen to Spotify Premium content.
The Smart Summon feature has been improved as it rolls out to all cars equipped with Full Self-Driving or Enhanced Autopilot. The tech allows Autopilot to autonomously navigate a parking lot and pick up the owner as long as the car is within their line of sight.
"It's the perfect feature to use if you have an overflowing shopping cart, are dealing with a fussy child, or simply don't want to walk to your car through the rain," the company says.
The software also introduces new navigation features, "I'm Feeling Lucky" and "I'm Feeling Hungry" that take drivers to local points of interest or restaurants. Tesla says its navigation search has been improved to sort items based on distance.
The V10.0 update will continue rolling out to cars across the globe this week.
