Toyota Corolla Hybrid matches Prius' 52-mpg rating

The sedan provides a more traditional fuel-sipping alternative to the controversial Prius.

As expected, the 2020 Toyota Corolla Hybrid has received impressive fuel efficiency ratings from the EPA.

The sedan has been rated at 52 mpg on the highway, 53 mpg in the city and 52 mpg combined. The figures represent a nearly 20-mpg jump from the rest of the non-hybrid Corolla lineup.

Amazingly, the Corolla Hybrid perfectly matches the standard Prius' 52-mpg combined rating, though it falls slightly shorter of the Prius Eco's 56 mpg.

The Corolla Hybrid is presumably aimed at buyers looking for the fuel savings of a hybrid without the controversial aesthetics of the Prius.
