Toyota adds safety tech, new trim to 2019 Tundra range
The company also upgraded its Tundra TRD Pro model for the new model year.
Toyota has announced a round of incremental upgrades for its 2019 Tundra full-size pickup truck. The revised Tundra will arrive in Toyota showrooms soon.
For the 2019 model year every Tundra receives Toyota's Toyota Safety Sense-P safety suite. TSS-P includes pre-collision warning with automatic emergency braking, lane departure alert, adaptive cruise control and automatic high-beams.
A new SX package joins the Tundra range for 2019 and offers buyers a unique look for their full-size truck. Based on the Tundra SR5 Double Cab, the SX package includes color-matched front grille and bumpers, the removal of all exterior badging and 18-inch black alloy wheels. The Tundra SX is available in Super White, Midnight Black Metallic, and Barcelona Red Metallic.
The hardcore Tundra TRD Pro returns for 2019 with improved hardware. Front and rear shocks have been upgraded to new Fox 2.5-inch units that improve wheel travel by as much as 2-inches. New TRD springs give the 2019 Tundra TRD Pro an additional 2-inches of front lift.
Other improvements to the TRD Pro model include new Rigid Industries LED fog lights, a new front grille, standard hood scoop and 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin P275/65R18 all-terrain tires. A moonroof has also been made standard for 2019.
Available exclusively in CrewMax form, the 2019 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro can be had in three exterior colors -- Super White, Midnight Black Metallic and Voodoo Blue.
