Volkswagen T-Roc goes drop-top

Neither the hardtop T-Roc or the new convertible are coming to the US.

As promised, Volkswagen has introduced a convertible variant of its popular T-Roc crossover.

Billed as the first crossover convertible in the compact class, the T-Roc Cabriolet is fitted with an automatic soft-top that opens and closes in just nine seconds at speeds of up to 19 mph.

If the chunky little vehicle ever tilts over a bit too far, a rollover protection system deploys behind the rear headrests. The windshield frame and other structural components have also been reinforced to maximize safety.

Volkswagen has not indicated any plans to bring the T-Roc to the US, making the convertible an even less likely addition to American showrooms.
