The crossover features a unique interior seating configuration.

Volkswagen has posted sketches of the ID Roomzz, an all-electric crossover concept that will debut at Auto Shanghai 2019.

The Roomzz is billed as a "multi-variable all-around model" that serves as the next model in the ever-growing range of ID-badged electric vehicles. All are based on the company's MEB modular platform architecture, developed specifically for EVs.

The company says the Roomzz features a variable interior with "completely new seat configurations" and an IQ Drive system to operate autonomously without an active driver at the SAE Level 4 specification.

"The ID Roomzz shows us what we can expect from full-size electric SUVs in the future," says VW brand chief designer Klaus Bischoff. "The puristic look emphasizes the clear function and the user experience is intuitive and natural."

The Roomzz joins the ID Crozz, Buzz, Vizzion, and Buggy. It is expected to launch first in China by 2021.
