Volkswagen teases ID Space Vizzion concept
The GT-styled crossover will land on the market by late 2021.
Volkswagen has released a teaser sketch for the forthcoming ID Space Vizzion, yet another crossover concept in the ever-growing family of ID-badged electric vehicles.
The company says the Space Vizzion represents the "crossover of tomorrow," combining the aerodynamic shape of a Gran Turismo with the interior spaciousness of an SUV.
"So far, with our ID family, we have shown what is possible with electric vehicles in each known car category," says Volkswagen Design head Klaus Bischoff. "With the ID Space Vizzion we create a new, fully electric segment."
Unsurprisingly, the model closely resembles the ID Vizzion that promises to arrive by 2022 with a 111-kWh battery pack capable of driving for 400 miles on a single charge. The higher-riding Space Vizzion will not offer quite as much range as the Vizzion, however, with a target of up to 300 miles.
VW says the Space Vizzion will inform a production model that will arrive on the market by late 2021, with different versions for North America, Europe and China.
