Volkswagen Passat gets lower price for 2020

The base model has dropped by more than $2,000.

The Volkswagen Passat has received a significant price reduction for the 2020 model year.

The $23,915 base price -- down more than $2,200 from the 2019 edition -- is arguably the biggest change for the 'new' 2020 Passat, aside from the bump to 206 pound-feet of torque thanks to a new torque converter and software tweaks.
The redesign also boasts new front-end styling with full LED lighting across the lineup, along with new wheel options and standard forward collision warning and blind-spot monitoring.
Inside, the latest Passat features a revamped cockpit with a more modern instrument panel and glass-covered 6.3-inch infotainment screen.
The 2020 Passat lineup has been reconfigured to four trim levels, including the $29,565 R-Line and range-topping $32,015 SEL edition, with US availability expected before the end of the year.
