Spy photos, new details emerge on Mazda CX-9

Spy photos of Mazda's forthcoming CX-9 have surfaced online. A similar vehicle, the CX-7 is supposed to be based on the same platform as the Ford Edge. The larger CX-9 will also be based on the Edge architecture, but will be longer and wider. It may be use the new Ford 3.5 Liter V6, and will offer a third row of seats. The CX-9 will replace Mazda's MPV in the United States. Details remain sparse, but several online reports suggest the CX-9 will be shown to the public at the New York Auto Show in concept form. A finalized version will enter production a few months later.
