Anti-Retro Ford Reflex Concept headed for Detroit

The February 2006 issue of Road and Track has a preview of Ford's forthcoming Reflex concept car. "The first salvo was the Iosis concept in Frankfurt; now comes the Reflex, a small B-Class coupe to be introduced at the Detroit show," the magazine explains. That show, of course, is the North American International Auto Show, taking place January 14-22. The front-wheel-drive Reflex is powered by a 1.4-liter turbodiesel with a hybrid electric assists. Much like Volvo's 3CC, the Reflex seats three adults. "Ironically, this push for a modern design comes from tow longtime J Mays allies who helped him develop such retro icons as the Volkswagen New Beetle and Audi TT," Road and Track says.
