Spied: 2008 Chevrolet Malibu in detail

General Motors this week began testing prototypes for the 2008 Chevrolet Malibu with less disguise than ever. The new Malibu gets a considerably bolder exterior than its predecessor, with a beefy front end, wide fender flares, a relatively high beltline, and angular styling reminiscent of the new Tahoe. The car appears to be nearing completion, and we'd expect an official debut no later than early 2007. Some aspects of the prototypes -- such as the headlamp and taillight units -- are clearly not quite ready for the showroom, but for the most part the design appears to have been finalized.
