St. Louis dealer "sending Hummers off with a bang"

With General Motors' ill-fated Hummer brand all-but-closed, some dealers are creating particularly innovative ways to clear out their remaining inventory. The latest: Lynch Hummer of St. Louis, which has gained attention over the past few years for its "free gun included" sales tactics, is now launching a new final clearance that includes a $2,000 Browning shotgun with each purchase.

"There is now real reason to believe that the current inventory on hand at dealers may be the last of the new Hummers, we wanted to send them off with something memorable," said dealer principal Jim Lynch in a statement released to the media. "Browning and Hummer are prestigious brands and American Icons - bringing them together is a natural fit."

The dealer says it added a gun store to its Hummer dealership location when inventory of the SUVs began to get perilously low last year.

"The guns have been a huge hit with our Hummer customers and now we are taking the 'Guns and Hummers' concept one step further," said Lynch.

Lynch Hummer says it will include a Browning Citori White Lightning shotgun with the purchase of any of its remaining Hummer inventory as part of its "Sending Hummers off with a bang" promotion.
