CES LIVE: Fisker EMotion

Henrik Fisker\'s latest creation aims to take another shot at the Tesla Model S with ultra-fast charging and a claimed range of 400+ miles.

Fisker Inc has brought its EMotion electric luxury sedan to Las Vegas for CES.

The EMotion is among many prospective production EVs present at the electronics expo, now a standard destination for large automakers showing off their latest 'mobility' technology.

Fisker hopes to disrupt the EV market with a solid-state battery produced via a collaboration with Sakti3. The 'breakthrough' technology is claimed to deliver a range of more than 500 miles on a single charge, though the EMotion is said to have a range of 400+ miles.

"Fisker's solid-state batteries will feature three-dimensional electrodes with 2.5 times the energy density of lithium-ion batteries," the company says.

No production date has been promised, though the EMotion's batteries are not expected to be ready for volume assembly until 2023 or later.
