Honda recalls Acura RLX, MDX over seat-belt problems in cold weather

Belt retract locks in temperatures below 0F.

Honda has issued a recall for new Acura RLX and MDX vehicles, citing an issue with the seat belts.

The company suggests the front belts might not properly disengage from the retracted position in low temperatures, below 0 degrees Fahrenheit, though no injuries have been officially tied to the problem.

The issue is associated with the 2014 RLX sedans and 2014-2015 MDX crossovers, reaching a total of approximately 43,000 vehicles.

Affected vehicles will be brought in to service centers to replace both front belt assemblies.

The company will begin distributing notices to owners later this month.
