Alpina's new B7 boasts 600 horsepower

The performance-tuned 7 Series sedan fetches nearly $143,000.

Alpina has revealed the 2020 B7 xDrive, updating the 7 Series-based sedan with more power.

The company has squeezed 600 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque from BMW's 4.4-liter V8, thanks to a large impeller on the exhaust side of both twin-scroll turbochargers and a new intercooler that mitigates pressure pulsations between both cylinder banks.

The extra power helps launch the B7 to 60 mph in just 3.5 seconds and increases its top speed from 194 mph to 205 mph.

Aside from the engine revisions, the B7 features a slightly lowered suspension, revised transmission programming, active exhaust valves, Alpina Classic wheels, a brake-by-wire system and unique interior detailing.

The 2020 B7 will arrive in the US market sometime in Q3 with a nearly $143,000 price tag.
