BMW 8 Series Gran Coupe leaks ahead of official debut

BMW's forthcoming 8 Series Gran Coupe appears to have leaked ahead of schedule.

Photos posted by CarBuyer (via BMW Blog) show the Gran Coupe's sleek silhouette with four doors and a sloping roofline that carries back to the edge of the trunk lid.

The new body style appears to provide generous space for rear-seat occupants, albeit with slightly less headroom than a traditional high-roof sedan.

The 8 Series Gran Coupe will likely carry over the same powertrains available in the two-door, including an M Performance edition with 523 horsepower. An M8 Gran Coupe is also expected to be added to the lineup eventually.

Official details are scheduled to be announced in the coming days.
