Cadillac boss hints at V-badged SUVs
The brand views V buyers as its most loyal customers and advocates.
Cadillac is apparently considering high-performance versions of its high-riding models to expand the V-badged lineup.
The company recently unveiled new CT4-V and CT5-V sedans. Both caused a stir at first, taking more of a midrange performance role, though a pair of proper successors to the ATS- and CTS-V were later teased at the Detroit Grand Prix.
Speaking to Road & Track, Cadillac boss Steve Carlisle admitted that the company is now mulling performance SUVs, potentially bringing the V branding to its best-selling models.
"I say why not?" he said. "You can't meet better advocates for our brand anyway than V-series customers."
Cadillac has not yet shed more light on which crossover or SUV might be the first to be adorned with the V badge.
