Chicago LIVE: 2019 Cadillac XT5 Sport
The sport package will sharpen up the XT5's exterior.
Hot on the heels of introducing the 2020 XT6 at the North American International Auto Show back in January, GM's product team decided to bring us a little something new in Chicago: The 2019 XT5 Sport.
After a tease like that, we'd love to tell you that this is a performance-oriented model intended to spice up the otherwise conservatively styled XT5. It's not. In fact, it's not a dedicated model at all.
Sadly, Sport will simply be an appearance package for the XT5's Luxury and Premium Luxury tiers. Cadillac President Steve Carlisle said the Sport package "[...] gives our best-selling XT5 a dark, aggressive appearance and expands customer choices within our successful crossover portfolio.”
Now that your expectations have been properly calibrated, here are the juicy details.
The exterior upgrades include a new gloss black grille with a "Galvano" surround, LED headlamps, clear tail light lenses, new side steps and 20-inch wheels finished in "Technical Gray." Inside, it gets sport pedals and two new upholstery and trim combinations (Cirrus/Jet Black with Diamond Cut aluminum trim or Jet Black with Diamond Cut aluminum trim).
The Sport package will be available for order starting this spring.
