Chevy adds Custom Sport trim to HD trucks

by Drew Johnson

Silverado HD models have a new trim option.

Chevrolet is extending its Custom Sport treatment to its line of heavy duty Silverado pickup trucks.

Already available on the Silverado 1500, Chevy is adding its Custom Sport trim line to its Silverado 2500 HD and 3500 HD trucks. Like their light-duty counterpart, the HD trucks feature body-colored bumpers, body-colored grille and chrome accents on the door handles, side moldings and side mirrors.

Silverado 2500 Custom Sport models ship standard with 20-inch wheels, while 3500s get 18-inchers in single-rear-wheel form. Opt for the 3500 dually and the Custom Sport's wheel size shrinks to 17-inches.

The Custom Sport package can be added to LT and LTZ trucks. Buyers have the option of either Summit White or Black exterior colors.

Pricing for the Custom Sport trim package ranges from $700 to $1,695, depending on model. Order books are open now.
