Ford reveals Euro-spec Ranger Raptor [Video]

European showrooms will receive the flagship Ranger next year, while a US launch remains unconfirmed.

Ford has revealed the European version of the Ranger Raptor, following on the heels of its Australian debut.

The Euro-spec edition was revealed at Gamescom, the continent's biggest gaming expo, as the high-performance pickup is featured in the new Forza Horizon 4 racing game.

Not much has changed from the Australian specification. Both are powered by a EcoBlue diesel engine with 211 horsepower and 369 pound-feet of torque, delivered to all four wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

The midsize Raptor boasts custom FOX shocks to help absorb terrain at high speeds. Upgraded brakes, multiple drive modes and all-terrain tires further enhance off-road performance.

EU customers will get a chance to buy the Ranger Raptor by mid-2019. The company has not yet officially confirmed plans for a US model, though Americans will likely get a gasoline powertrain.
